TribLive Former Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward keeps popping up in the oddest places on television. This time he’ll be part of ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap.” Ward’s wife, Lindsey Georgalas Ward, will swap places with the girlfriend of Verne Troyer (“Mini-Me” from the “Austin Powers” movies). The show will air at tonight at 10 p.m.

I’m really impressed Verne Troyer has been able to take his “5 minutes of fame” as Mini-me in 1999 and continues to make prime time appearances on network television in 2015.

That being said, there is no chance he doesn’t lose his girlfriend tonight to “Mr Smiles” Hines Ward. Given that “Wife Swap” is reality TV and I’m sure ABC is all over creating realistic situations, it is only going to take Ms. Troyer one night with Hines to see all the benefits of a full size (sex) life. If we’re being honest, I wouldn’t even be surprised to see the real Mrs. Ward join the party midway through. If ABC wants to win in the ratings tonight that’s what they would shoot for, just saying.

Then ABC can parlay Verne’s sadness into another drunk tirade that goes viral…
