I don’t even know. I watched it twice and my first thought was The pimp from Sons of Anarchy is due to be President, the villian from last years Homeland is his wife / former head of CTU, and an African American Jack Bauer knockoff is up against the clock.
But the second time? I just don’t know. 

When Jack’s heir apparent was African American people were taken back. I’m not even sure they found the right African American but the PTSD soldier plays in this arena and as long as they don’t buy us with played out stereo types it can work. I’m definitely not sure about his wife who can’t follow instructions but I guess they were contractually obligated to include a moronic character who’s screen time does nothing but piss you off. At least Kim Bauer oozed sex. 

All that being said I’ll definitely watch and follow the news leading up to its premiere after the Super Bowl on Fox. Our best case scenario is they steal the technique Game of Thrones uses and have 24 Legacy be the slow, “wtf is this” build leading up to the inevitable Jack Bauer return / rescue payoff. 

Let us pray we get Tony Almeida back…
