Erik Kratz is sweeping the city by storm.  Yesterday we covered his time as the official Turkey Bacon after his dinger was the difference in Monday’s 1-0 win over Giants ace Madison Bumgarner.

Game 2 vs the Giants wasn’t as pretty as the Buccos called up another pitcher not named Tyler Glassnow and fed him to the Giants who ate him right up and 10 runned the Pirates.

While most people reach for the remote in a baseball blowout it’s always intriguing to continue watching and see what position player makes an appearance as a relief pitcher soas not to burn innings on your bullpen and last night we got that position player on the bump by way of Mr. Turkey Bacon.

Kratz made an immediate impact, striking out Brandon Belt on his way to being the only Pirate to pitch a full inning and not give up a run.

In all fairness, Erik Kratz wasn’t your run of the mill position player pitcher, he was dealing pure gas.

Assuming the Pirates stick with a four man rotation, Erik Kratz will make his next start Sunday vs the Dodgers.
